I've worn essentially this exact outfit - the dress, knee socks, smart shoes - many times before, but this is the first time since I saw Moonrise Kingdom, where the girl wears a similarish outfit (it's an orange dress with a white collar, but pointed, and white sock and clumpier shoes). I didn't make the connection until my handbag slipped off my shoulder and a grabbed the handles as though it was a suitcase. Maybe deciding that I'm dressed like a Wes Anderson character is giving myself more gravitas than I really deserve, and I'm not nearly as Sixties as Suzy, and my brief forays to the hospital and the city centre were the opposite of adventures, but it added a moment of fun into an otherwise very run-of-the-mill day.
