Two and a half years, I cut my past-the-shoulders, wavy, preppy mess of hair into a severe pixie crop á la Jean Seberg. I've loved having short hair; trading my very 'feminine' hair for a style that I didn't have to worry about frizzing or getting hat hair with was very liberating. However, I decided at about the time that I'd had the crop for two years that I wanted to try growing it out. Not to the same length it used to be, just the thought of that much hair feels very odd to me now. Instead, I decided to aim for a chin-length 'do - I had one about three year ago now, but didn't keep it well enough and fell into old 'I'll just leave it to grow' habits. I was - probably justly - not sure that growing it out again would suit 'me', personality-wise. I stuck with it though, knowing that if I didn't like it I could very easily walk into a hairdressers and get it all lopped off again. Flicking through Wonderland SS13 about a month ago though, I found a Chanel-based beauty editorial featuring a model, called Agnes Nabuurs, whose hair was almost exactly what I'd like the finished result of the past 5 months of growth to look like.
