Summer Tracks II

Every now and again, I'll put a heretofore unheard album/EP on as background to studying, and a song will come on that will break through the concentration barrier and completely distract me for 3+ minutes that it lasts for. This song is one of those, that pulled my brain out the impact of the Empire on Britain and into an idealised fantasy about hot American summers sat on an imaginary porch.

It's genuinely lovely, vocals with that American drawl that is somehow beautiful to hear in music, and a tune that, like in good TV shows, more blends into the background so that you almost don't realise it than takes over the song (there's a place for this in other bands, but I adore the pared-back nature of this some days). The summer-fantasy it induced, the joyous distraction from revision to discover something lovely and the fact that I've fallen a little bit in love with Tyler (?) on the basis of his singing all make this deserving of being put on my developing 'Summer Tracks' playlist.
