Summer Tracks III

Coin describe themselves, in a roundabout way, as 'swirlie indie party pop'. The joy this phrase implies is wonderful, a slightly retro sound that is somehow automatically familiar, although that might just be the amount that I've played them recently. If dancing makes you brave, like Grey's Anatomy claims, then is the music I will always 'dance it out' to. Just walking around listening to this band, or half-dancing around the house, or two-thirds dancing around my bedroom (I have what would be the front room in a non-student house, and even though I have mesh curtains and it's set back from the pavement, I'm still a little convinced that people can see in sometimes), I feel a little more optimistic, a little more confident. Coin, on this track, which I've chosen partly for the laughter at the beginning, partly for the changing tempo that makes it fun to dance to, and partly for the awkward romance included - see "spill my drink 'cause I'm nervous when I'm talking to you, start to stutter and I wonder if I have an excuse", put a spring in my step even on the days when it should have been spring and wasn't.
